Broussard - Albert "Aubrey" Neeb Jr. was a solider. He was a financial planner, an avid bowler, a father and stepfather and a boundless source of energy. Above all, he was an awesome husband to his beloved wife, Carolyn. Aubrey was all of these and more during a 79-year life that began in Gretna and ended in Lafayette Parish, where he and Carolyn resided in recent years. After battling lymphoma, Aubrey died November 29,2023. Aubrey was a selfless man whose passing left an impact and unfillable gap in the lives of many. During the height of the war in Vietnam, he voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He attended West Jefferson High School, earned an associated degree from Delgado Community College and a bachelor's degree from Our Lady of Holy Cross College, majoring in law enforcement and minoring in accounting. Employed by the federal government, he worked for the Postal Office, the Department of Agriculture and the Immigration and naturalization Service. In addition to being a financial planner, he worked part-time for the Gretna police Department and Le grand the Florist. He had an array of favorite activities. Dancing, fishing, playing cards, shooting pool. But above all, it was bowling. He belonged to numerous bowling leagues, serving in various capacities, including as president, vice president and secretary. He cooked. Lots. For everyone and anyone. When he wasn't cooking at home for Carolyn, he was preparing meals for friends, his elderly neighbors or even Carolyn's coworkers. Small or large events, it didn't matter. He loved to cook and to feed people. Aubrey was preceded in death by his mother Verna Annie Bourke Karl (Alvin); his father Albert A. Neeb Sr.,(Leontine); and his sister Patrica Neeb Neie.
