Barbara Ella "Bobbie" Cormier

Scott - Barbara Ella “Bobbie” Cormier, age 88, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Bobbie lived a full and joyful life rooted in love, laughter, and family. She was an avid gardener, often found tending to her flowers with the same care she gave her family. She loved to dance with her beloved husband of many years, Silton Cormier, creating countless cherished memories together. A devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, Bobbie treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her warm heart and gentle spirit touched everyone she met. A fierce competitor on the Scrabble board, Bobbie played daily with her circle of close friends, rarely missing a chance to challenge and charm them with her wit and vocabulary. She is survived by her husband, Silton Cormier; her children, Daniel “Danny” Shay (Gail), Norman Cormier (Kari), Stephanie Nunez (wife of the late Karl “BeeBee” Nunez), Claudette Bryant (Richard), Georgette Lavergne (Mark), and Lisa Cormier Stanton; along with 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, George Authement and Elizabeth Marcel Authement and her 9 siblings. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 11:30 AM with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Christian Life Center in Lafayette, La., with burial to follow at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, Louisiana. Bobbie’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
