Barbara Jean “Sam” Bernard, age 90, a native of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on September 22, 2026.

Sam will be remembered for her love of the outdoors and the simple pleasures that came with it. An avid outdoors enthusiast, she especially enjoyed hunting and fishing and cherished the many memories made while spending time in nature.

Above all, Sam treasured her family and leaves behind generations of loved ones who will carry her memory and legacy forward.

She is survived by her two daughters, Rhonda J. Rippenkroger and Mitzi L. Ramsden; her stepchildren, Kirk A. Bernard Sr. and his wife, Rhema; Randy J. Bernard Sr. and his wife, Kerry; and Vickie L. Burg and her husband, Dennis.

Sam was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Her large and loving family stands as a beautiful testament to the life and legacy she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Irvin Bernard Jr.

Sam's independent spirit, love for the outdoors, and devotion to her family will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through the generations of family she leaves behind and the countless stories and memories they will continue to share.

May she rest in peace.
