Bessie Lucille Grossie

Lafayette - Bessie Lucille Grossie, age 70, passed away peacefully at her residence in Lafayette, Louisiana, on October 4, 2025. A Memorial Service honoring her life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The Christian Life Center in Lafayette. Bessie was a devoted Catholic who lived her faith through service, compassion, and steadfast dedication. She worked faithfully for St. Genevieve Church for 15 years, where she became a cherished member of the parish family. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Robert Lee Grossie, with whom she shared more than 52 wonderful years of love, laughter, and partnership. Bessie was happiest when surrounded by her family, tending to her flower garden, or spending quiet moments with her beloved dog, Tiller. Her gentle nature and nurturing spirit touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Lee Grossie; her daughters, Lenore G. Comeaux and Tabitha Femmer; her brothers, Jimmy Tisdale and wife Sandra, and John Allen Tisdale and wife Jessie; her sisters, Theresa Tisdale and husband Wayne, and Carol Wimberly and husband Wayne; her grandchildren, Anthony and Katelyn Comeaux, Cohen, Raader, and Ahna Tauzin; and her great-grandchildren, Krue and Emry Comeaux. Bessie will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and the love she poured into her family, her friends, and her church community. Her memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
