Betty Jo Forgason

Duson - Betty Jo Forgason, 84, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital. Betty Jo was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Born to Henry and Zelda Forgason, Betty Jo lived a life full of love for her family and joy in the simple things. She worked for over 20 years at Oak Bourne Country Club, where she made lasting friendships and memories. Betty Jo was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and enjoyed watching their games with great enthusiasm. She loved spending time with her family, coloring, playing bingo, Bouree’, and taking trips to the casino, where she found excitement and entertainment. She is survived by her sons, Dallas Bourque and wife Vanessa, Tim Bourque and wife Angie and Roland Bourque, along with her 18 grandchildren: Todd, Nick, Tasha, Kaysha, Dallas Jr., Tyler, Clara, Stephanie, Twyla, George, Shaun, Carissa, Allen, Nicole, Timothy, Alexis, Trey, Roland(Jade) and numerous great grandchildren. Betty Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Zelda Forgason, her former husband George(Buck)Bourque, daughter Geneva Degeytaire, daughter in law Laurie Bourque and grandson Josh Domingue. A celebration of Betty Jo’s life will be held at a later date. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
