Byron Kent Arceneaux, 77 of Grand Prairie, LA. passed away on January 11, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He loved drag racing and was the manager at Louisiana Raceway racetrack in Eunice for many years, watching horse races and NFL football especially the saints, working in his garden and trips to the casino was some of his favorite past-times, as well as playing bouree. Byron was born in Lafayette on September 29, 1945, to Kermit and Julia Spears Arceneaux and was a self-employed farmer and a heavy equipment operator. Byron is preceded in death by his parents Kermit Arceneaux and Julia Spears Trahan and step-father Lanny Trahan. He is survived by his wife, Annette Snead Arceneaux of Washington, Son, Brandon Kent Arceneaux of Ville Platte, Daughters; Pam Fontenot and husband Dane of Grand Prairie, Shanna Arceneaux of Grand Prairie, Laney David and husband Quinn of Grand Prairie, Emily Tackett and husband David of Vidrine and Annette Pisano of Florida. Grandchildren; Nicholas, Ashley, Madison, Kaitlin, Kolbe, Harper, Bailey, Mason and Riley-Kate. Great-grandchildren; Isaac, Audrey, Tate and Rhett. He is also survived by his siblings; Denny and wife Tammy Trahan of Grand Prairie, Ellen and husband Frank Broussard of Lafayette, Tammy and husband Rick Griffith of Madisonville, La. and Glenda Trahan of Leonville.
