Connie Ray Knippers-Westmoreland

Lafayette - Connie Ray Knippers-Westmoreland. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Connie Knippers-Westmoreland (Sharkey) announces her passing on Saturday, December 14th, 2024. She passed with peace and comfort at The Calcutta House in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was 76 years old. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Connie enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing cards, and drinking coffee outside on the patio. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, godmother, aunt, sister, and a wonderful friend to everyone that she met. Connie is survived by her son, Troy Mannino (Jacob Duhon); daughter, Jamee Knippers; grandchildren, Zack, Jazmine, Austin, Lance, Logan, and Reyona; great grandchildren, Alaina, Russell Cole, William Asher, Sayla, and Alijah; siblings, Martha Payne (Marshall) Faye Ashley (Mark), Melissa Sharkey, and John Sharkey (Angela). She is proceeded in death by her husband, James Westmoreland; her parents Edwin “Snooks” Sharkey and Elsie Miller. Connie’s family would like to express a special thank you to Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital and Hospice of Acadiana for taking such wonderful care of her during her final weeks.
