Cynthia Marie Joubert

Port Barre - Cynthia Joubert, age 62, of Lafayette, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Born to a loving family, Cynthia dedicated her life to her community and her cherished grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. A proud and devoted public servant, Cynthia served for many years with the Port Barre Police Department, where her commitment to her work and her community earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and residents alike. After her retirement, she continued to touch lives with her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter. Cynthia had a unique ability to make people laugh, often brightening the days of those around her with her quick wit and humor. She loved spending time with her close friends—Venessa, Virge, Veronica, and Brenda—especially during their outings to the casino, where they created countless cherished memories together. Cynthia is survived by her mother Theresa Thompson, her children; Joshua Babineaux(Tabatha), Joseph Theo Babineaux Jr., Timothy Babineaux(Kavin), Trevion Joubert, Latosha Alekhue(Jude), Lovely Joubert, siblings; Gregory Kennerson(Melissa), Katherine Forsythe(Davy)and Angelia Keys(Vickie), grandchildren; Peyton, Preston, Blaire, Kohen and Karson Babineaux, Ignatius Theo Gotch, BreAna Brown and her beloved grand pup Kash Money. She is preceded in death by her father August Kennerson and sister Magreta Davis. Cynthia Joubert will be remembered for her laughter, her dedication to others, and the love she shared with all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of joy and kindness that will continue to inspire.
