New Iberia - Deborah Abney Breaux, 68, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, in her residence surrounded by her daughter and family. Services will be announced at a later date. Deborah was a native and life long resident of New Iberia, she was born on February 23, 1953. Granny, as she was most affectionately known, enjoyed spending her time being with her family, especially going to the casino with her mom and dad. Some of her hobbies included baking, sewing, cooking and dancing. She will be deeply missed. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daddy David Allen Abney II , daughter Shawntelle Babineaux and husband Marcus, her sister, Mary Abney, her sons; CJ Breaux III, David Breaux and Drew Breaux; grandchildren Taylore, Darryon, Alyssi and Peyton Babineaux, Seth Ramsey, Blake Benoit, Kymbreigh Jordan, Bayllie, Brittney, Brooklyn,Cory Boding, Eathen and Noah Breaux. Her brothers; Jack, Mark and Donald Abney. Mrs. Deborah was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Helen Byrd Abney; her brothers, David Allen Abney III, Michael James Abney and William Joseph Abney. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Darryon, Peyton and Marcus Babineaux, Corey Bodin, Seth Ramsey and Blake Benoit. A very special thanks to three very special women and one very special man; Laci Guidry and Melissa Vital with Hospice; Dr. Perry Prellop and Dr. Moses Kitakule, whom she adored and all who helped guide her through here 12 year journey of battening cancer. The family appreciates your unending love and care that was provided for our beloved “Granny.”
