Arnaudville - Diana McClelland, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, at St. Joseph's Carpenter House in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was surrounded by her loved ones, and her passing marks the end of a life full of love, laughter, and joy. Diana was a woman whose greatest passion was her family. She cherished her children, Bryan and Penny McClelland, but her love for her grandchildren was unmatched. Spencer McClelland, Christian Caskey, and Garrett Lavergne brought her immeasurable joy, and she adored every moment spent with them. She was also deeply connected to her extended family, including Debbie, Anthony, Cindy, Darren Fontenot, and Aimee Miller. Born to John Dupre and Angelle Meche, Diana’s family roots ran deep. She found comfort in the bonds she shared with them. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Bobby Paul McClelland; her parents; her brother, James Dupre; her sisters, Patricia Ogden and Gloria "Janey" Vidrine; and her nephew, Jeremy Vidrine. Diana had a zest for life that was contagious. She loved to laugh, dance, and listen to music, especially at Back-to-Back and Cowboys Dance Hall. Where she could always be found with a smile on her face. Her fondness for playing cards, particularly Canasta, was well-known among her sisters, with whom she spent many happy hours playing. Diana is also survived by her brother, Junior Dupre, her nephews Jason Vidrine, Kyle Ogden, Scott Ogden and her niece, Lois Gibbs. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of St. Joseph’s Carpenter House and Dr. Elliot for their exceptional care and compassion during Diana’s final days. Diana’s laughter, kindness, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, and the countless moments of joy she brought to those around her.
