Donald Ray Johnfore

Lafayette - Donald Ray Johnfore, age 74, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. Born with a love for the outdoors and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life, Donald found joy in nature, spending countless days hunting, fishing, and soaking in the peace that only the wilderness could offer. A true fan of Blues music, he often found comfort in the soulful sounds of his favorite song, "(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay." Donald will be remembered for his laid-back spirit, his love of family, and his ability to find serenity in life’s quiet moments. He is survived by his loving daughter, Jessica Spencer and her husband Ronald Spencer Jr., of Lafayette. He also leaves behind his siblings: Joseph Johnfore of Carencro, Dale Johnfore of Florida, Alice Reese of Lafayette, and Sue Johnfore. Donald was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, great-grandfather to two, with two more great-grandchildren expected soon—blessings he cherished deeply. Though he has left this world, Donald’s legacy lives on in the stories shared, the songs played, and the peaceful places he loved most.
