Doris Jean Buie

Doris Jean Buie died peacefully at home February 7th in Rayne, Louisiana. She was born July 15, 1943 to Neal M. and Bertha M. (Watson) Buie in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the baby of thirteen children.

Doris was married twice, having three children from her first union with Jimmy R. Smith, Richard S. Smith (deceased), Samuel R. Smith, and Stephen R. Smith. She was also a widow from her second marriage with Gene Hernandez.

Doris loved to travel and became a travel agent to facilitate her love. She was an avid and expert player of many games and enjoyed time spent with family, friends, and especially her sisters.

She was predeceased by her parents, all of her siblings, and her first born son Richard. She is survived by her two sons Samuel and Stephen, her daughter-in-law Evangeline, two grandchildren Jesse and Joshua, and many loving nephews and nieces.

A celebration of her extraordinary life will be held in the near future TBD. Those who may wish to attend may contact any of her family for information.
