Frank Edward Romero Sr.
December 30, 1943 – September 7, 2026
Frank Edward Romero Sr., age 82, a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Louisiana, passed away on September 7, 2026.
Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was marked by faith, hard work, and a willingness to help others. A hands-on man by nature, Frank was happiest when he was working on a project, lending a helping hand, or simply staying busy. He was known for his affectionate personality, energetic spirit, and generosity toward those around him.
Frank had a lifelong love for motorcycles and enjoyed the freedom and adventure they brought him. Above all, however, he treasured his family. Throughout his life, Frank often spoke of the three most important women in his life: his mother, who helped shape the man he became; the mother of his children, with whom he shared the blessing of his three sons; and Glenda, the love of his life and a gift from God. He and Glenda shared 15 wonderful years of marriage together.
A man of faith and a believer, Frank carried his religious convictions throughout his life. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army after being drafted during the Vietnam War.
Those left to cherish Frank's memory include his beloved wife, Glenda Patin; his three sons, Frank Romero Jr. and wife Dacia, Taylor Romero, and Brandon Romero and wife Kibby; his nine grandchildren; his brother, Craig Romero and wife Debbie; his sister, Peggy Widman and husband Frank; and numerous extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston Joseph Romero and Louise Mary Amy, and his sister, Margaret Hull.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026, at St. Peter’s Church in New Iberia from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church.
Inurnment and a committal service with military honors will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 1907 Johnson Street, Jennings, Louisiana 70546.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the VA for their care and assistance over the past eight years, St. Joseph’s Carpenter House, and everyone who helped in Frank’s care throughout the years, including his sitters, neighbors, and all of the special angels who offered their time, compassion, and support. The family’s gratitude for the kindness and care shown to Frank cannot be adequately expressed in words.
Frank will be remembered for his love of family, his strong faith, his service to his country, and his readiness to lend a hand whenever someone needed him. His hardworking spirit and love for those around him will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
