George M. Beduze

Lafayette - Michael Beduze age 70. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Michael “Mike” Beduze, who passed away on January 3, 2024 after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family A New Orleans native, Mike was born on April 17, 1953 to George Anthony Beduze Jr. and Elizabeth Bongiovanni Beduze. Mike’s love for the Lord was at the center of his life and touched the lives of everyone he met, especially his family and friends who gained wisdom and love through his powerful prayers. Mike graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in the College of Business in 1975, during which time he served as a two-term President of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and a one-term President of the Interfraternity Council. Mike thereafter pursued a career In the financial services industry, and acquired numerous financial certifications. His commitment and love for helping others was apparent throughout his career, as was his love of service.. Mike was a genuine friend to all, and well respected by his community. But central to his life were his family, who adored him immensely. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Constance McHugh Beduze, , sons B. Ryan Beduze (Hayley), Beau Beduze (Kathleen), daughter Brooke Beduze Baldridge (Jamie);grandchildren Lucas Beduze, Tanner Beduze, and Madison Beduze; brothers Pinckney Wood (Gayle) and Brian Beduze (Joan); and sisters Susan Lapara and Bridget Beduze. He is also survived by his nephew Graham Beduze (Ange) and nieces Gina Lapara, Dawn Trahan, and Allyson Beduze Parra (Parker). Mike was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, as well as many cousins, friends, and family members. A Celebration of Life honoring Mike will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Pathway Church, 200 SouthCity Parkway, Lafayette, LA 70503.
