Gerald Meyers

Lafayette – Gerald Meyers, age 80 passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the Camelot of Broussard Assisted Living facilities. Gerald is survived by his four sons; Timothy and wife Paula, Marc and his wife Lauren, Keith, Shane Meyers, brothers; Wilbert and Wilson Meyers his grandchildren; Azeline, Keith Jr. Kaylee, Hannah, Ashton, Caitlyn, Natalie, Courtney, Harley, Jazmine and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Meyers Sr. and Adeline Marcotte, his wife Terresa Meyers and siblings; Jean Dufor, Hillary Meyers, George Dufor, Warren Dufor, Melvin Meyers Jr., Vezea Meyers, Marian Meyers and Eldridge Meyers. Gerald spent most of his life living in New Orleans then moved to Texas where he enjoyed being a member of the American Legion. He proudly served his country in the United States Army doing two tours of duty in the Vietnam War where he was awarded several medals. He enjoyed playing pool, listening to music and dancing. The family would like to express their gratitude and Thanks to Camelot of Broussard, especially nurse Ann for the genuine care given to Gerald. The family is planning a private memorial at a latter date.
