India D'Shonna Arie Jackson Cooper

India Arie Cooper was born on December 21, 2004, at Lafayette General Hospital, and she departed this life on November 18, 2025. She was a beloved and cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose gentle spirit touched all who knew her. India graduated from Lafayette High School in May 2023 as a straight A student. She proudly continued her education at Louisiana State University, majoring in Finance with aspirations of becoming an attorney. Though naturally shy and calm, her personality blossomed through the things she loved the most including makeup, shopping, exploring new restaurants, reading, listening to podcasts, and creating new memories with family and friends. She especially treasured the time spent with her boyfriend of three years, Hunter Mora, and best friend, Kassandra Gonzalez. India leaves to cherish her precious memories of her sisters Brittany Dunn, Cortney (Vlado) Lugonja, Idrisa (Damien) Thibodeaux, Ari Dunn, and Hannah Dunn, along with her beloved two nephews Haiden and Harlem Thibodeaux. She was also deeply loved by the Jackson family including her parents, Dinosius (Henry) Jackson; siblings Henry Jackson III, Hennessy Jackson, Hennecia Jackson, Lashayla Jackson, Essence Jackson, Denzel McCoy, Daejon McCoy, Delaysha McCoy, Chevell Campbell, Deovanni Lafontain, Diamond White, Jonavon Winfrey, Courvoisier Cooper, Jalisa Brown, Desire Richard, and Andre Leday; and her grandparents Henry Jackson Sr. and Cherro Cooper. She was preceded in death by Brian Keith Malbrough; grandmother, Leola Jackson. India’s light, laughter, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have shared life with her. Her legacy lives on through her integrity, kindness, thoughtfulness, and the warmth she brought into every room. Visitation will be held at Christian Life Center, 411 Verot School Road, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with funeral services immediately following.
