Washington - John Francis Lally III, a man of boundless kindness, generosity, and a love for life, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, at the age of 81 He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. John was married to his devoted wife, Linda, for 45 years, a partnership marked by love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they built a beautiful life, and his family was always his greatest joy. John’s commitment to his loved ones was unmatched, and his warmth and spirit will remain in their hearts forever. John enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially his passion for gardening, where he could often be found tending to his plants, nurturing them with the same care and dedication he gave to his family. He was a man who embraced challenges, always seeking new ways to grow and improve. Whether in his personal life or his hobbies, he met every challenge with a positive outlook and a kind heart. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Lally; his daughter, Heather Lally; and his grandchildren: Brandon, Dillon, and Alexis, as well as his great-grandchild, Ezra. John is also survived by his sister, Milly Dampeer, and her late husband, Dr. John Dampeer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who cherished him deeply. His nieces and nephews include: Dr. John Lally Steigner, Dr. Michael Lally Steigner, Patrick Lally Steigner, Jason Lally Steigner, Paul Senac, Stephanie Gomez, Carol Ann Lally, and Leslie Binder. John was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John Francis Lally Jr. and Mildred Bertrand, as well as his siblings, Ralph Charles Lally II and his wife Carol (living), and Pamela Ann Senac and her husband Jimmy (living). John’s kindness, generosity, and zest for life will live on through the many lives he touched. His love of family, nature, and the world around him will be remembered with great affection. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
