It is with deep sorrow that we announce John “Scotty” Schoeffler, 66 passed away March 30th, 2026 at the Carpenter House in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was born on Flag Day, June 14th, 1959 in Lafayette Louisiana. For many years, Scotty was an integral and important part of his twin sisters’ interior design business, Twin Designs. He would stop at nothing to ensure the job was completed to the absolute best of his ability. That was just who he was. If a friend, family member or neighbor needed help he was the first to arrive and always there to lend a helping hand. He embodied the “give you the shirt off his back” kind of guy. Scotty was generous to a fault, just like our father, and those who knew them both can attest. Cooking, maintaining a beautiful yard, politics, and watching sports were his passions. The Saints, LSU and the Houston Astros were his teams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris “Sonnier” Schoeffler and John Lee Schoeffler. He is survived by twin sisters, Julie Brush, Trude’ Lippert, sister Charlotte Cook, brother Kurt Schoeffler, nephew Taylor Cook and wife Karley Cook and new arrival, great Nice, Ella Mae Cook. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by family and friends as being a good guy and a valued friend.
A celebration of life will be held at Scotty‘s residence in Church Point, Louisiana, Sunday April 19, 2026 between 2 and 5 PM, weather permitting. To be confirmed at a later date on Facebook. We invite all who knew and loved Scotty to join us in honoring his memory.
