Services for Joseph "Rookie" Mouton will be held in the Chapel of Colligan Crematory and Funeral Services on Saturday February 18 2023 at 2:00 P.M, Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. on Saturday until time of service, with Rev. Mark Lewis officiating. Rookie was a member of Progressive Baptist Church of Lafayette, he also worked for the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs Office as a deputy but the majority of his career was spent offshore, where Rookie was a Chef. Born in Lafayette La, on August 11, 1955 to Elridge and Delores Chassion Mouton, he is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Bryne, Fr. Jason and Elridge Mouton Jr. Surviving Rookie is his wife, Mary Earline Simmons Mouton of Lafayette, son, Ryan Simmons of Lafayette, daughter, Kim Dauterive and husband Cornelius of Yorktown VA., sister Anchell Chevalier and husband Kevin of Atlanta GA., brother Gary Mouton and wife Kathy of Lafayette, his aunt, Abbie Chaisson Grandchildren; Ja’Cory, Giles, Diamond, Bryan, Brianne, Danvonrick, Bryson, Brittly, Ryan Jr. Great Grandchildren; Ja’Cory Jr. Genevieve, Jessalyn, Joella, Kennadi, Julien, Kendrix, Braylon, Brennan, Zeke, Bryan Jr., Xzavier and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. David Reed, 7th floor ICU staff at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, Fresenius Clinic and everyone who offered prayers and thoughts these past couple of weeks.
