Kristen Marlin Smith

New Iberia - Kristen Marlin Smith. On 9/29/2025 Kris Smith went home to be with our Lord and His angels. He is greeted in heaven by his mother and father, Winston and Mary Smith. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Connie Smith. Sons Cody Lafleur and Christopher Smith and their wives April and Brianna. Sister Shawn Shirey and husband Wayland. Grandchildren Brayden, Gracie, Maddox, Noah, Charles and Theodore. Kris was an Army First Sergeant, history teacher, locksmith, photographer, and high school referee. He was a husband, a father and grandfather, a brother, an uncle and a friend. Above all these things he was a Christian and servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Kris battled with cancer, never losing faith and used his love and wisdom to spread God’s word. He is to be remembered for his loving wisdom, humor, and giving nature. Forgiven by Christ, he studied God’s word daily and now walks with Him on His streets of gold. Romans 12: 2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
