Laura Mae Leblanc-Comeaux

Lafayette - Laura Mae Comeaux, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home on August 28, 2025 in Lafayette, Louisiana, surrounded by family. Laura was a lifelong member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was a loving and caring mother and friend to all who knew her. She worked for A&P, Small World Day Care as an assistant for 5 years, and was a bartender for numerous bars in Lafayette. She was an avid reader, loved crawfish boils and bar-b-que gatherings. But mostly, Laura was the happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren. She never drove, drank or smoked, but never missed a thing. She always made sure you knew you were loved. She will be deeply missed by all. Laura is survived by her son, Lovelace Louis Comeaux, II of Lafayette, Louisiana; two daughters: Lynn Richard of Lafayette, Louisiana and Samantha (Todd) LeBlanc Brasseaux of Washington, Louisiana; two sisters: Jane LeBlanc (Howard, deceased) of Texas and Anna Rose (Shelton, deceased) Suire of Abbeville, Louisiana; two brothers: Allen (Delores, deceased) LeBlanc of Lafayette, Louisiana and Russell (Yvette) LeBlanc of Erath, Louisiana; son-in-law Gregory “Hippy” (Karen) Bourque of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; two godchildren: Anna Rose Suire of Abbeville, Louisiana and Terry (Sharon) LeBlanc of Texas; ten grandchildren: Jeremy Comeaux, Billie Dawn Lyons, Kelsey Comeaux, Shannon Bourque, Kimberly Bourque, Brandi Bourque, Ronnie Touchet, Michael Touchet, Timothy Brasseaux and Danika Brasseaux; four step-grandchildren: Steven Richard, Joshua Richard, Jarrod Landry, Brandi Guidry, Tiffany Landry, and Joshua Pothier; twenty great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Alcide and Agnes LeBlanc; daughter, Karen Comeaux Bourque; son, Kevin Comeaux, sister, Nell LeBlanc; brother, Curney LeBlanc; daughter-in-law, Sheila Comeaux; granddaughter, Dana LeBlanc, and ex-husband, Lovelace Louis Comeaux, Sr. The Comeaux family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff with “Heart of Hospice” for the kindness and compassion they showed Laura during her deepest time of need. Special thanks to Norbert “Squirrel” Broussard for all of his help in caring for Laura. Colligan Funeral Home, 121 Park Center Dr, Broussard, LA 70518 is in charge of cremation arrangements. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
