Baldwin - Leroy Joseph Meaux, 73, of St. Mary Parish, Baldwin Louisiana, passed away on December 1, 2024, at Iberia Medical Center. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who lived his life with a spirit of adventure and a heart full of love for his family. Leroy was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, visiting the casino, or sharing moments with his loved ones. Born to Leeroy Meaux and Hilda Duval Meaux Ashley, Leroy grew up with a deep connection to the land and the people of the Bayou State. He was married to his devoted wife, Ruth, for 54 years, building a life filled with memories, laughter, and love. Together, they raised a family that Leroy cherished deeply. He is survived by his wife Ruth; children Leeroy Meaux Jr. and his companion Kristen Gray, Richard Meaux and his companion Heather Beach, Pamela Horton, and deceased companion Kirk Doucet and Brenda Crawford and deceased husband Timmy Crawford. Leroy is also survived by his stepfather, Huey Ashley; his siblings Richard Ashley and wife Tanya, Mark Ashley and companion Kelly, Tammy Ashley, Gloria Trosclair and husband Alvin, Harold Melancon, and Dale Anslum and deceased husband Ronald. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Hailey, Elizabeth, Millie, Beulah, Makenzie, Noah, Aiden, Donavan, Crystal, Caleb, Miranda, Cory, and JJ, as well as his great-grandchildren CJ, Elijah, Levi and Erik. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents Leeroy Meaux and Hilda Duval Meaux Ashley, his daughters Ruth Edwards and Peggy Horton, his sister Ozea Meaux and Nephew Ethan Ashley. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in peace, reunited with loved ones, and forever remembered for the love, laughter, and joy he brought to so many. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
