Lila Sue Turner

Lafayette - Lila Sue Turner, age 81was born on September 16, 1942, peacefully passed away at home on April 22, 2024. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Lila grew up in Dequeen, AR where she met her husband, Howard. They made a home in Dallas, TX then moved to North Little Rock, AR where they lived for many years before moving to Lafayette, LA. She worked on and off as a bookkeeper, but her favorite job was being a housewife and mother. She loved entertaining in her home and seemed to always have a house full of company. Lila was especially proud of her four grandchildren and devoted herself to helping care for them. Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, and her parents, James and Verbal Slabaugh. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Valerie and Paul LeBas, grandchildren, Lindsey (Gage Higginbotham), Jean-Paul, Andre, and Emile, her sister Gwen, and her sister-in-law, Sissy Slabaugh. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice of Acadiana for their care and comfort at this difficult time.
