New Iberia - Marcella Broussard Babineaux, age 68, passed away on September 21, 2024, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, Louisiana. A loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Marcella touched the lives of many with her vibrant spirit and artistic talents. Born to Lawrence Broussard and Theresa Trimble, Marcella had a passion for painting, knitting, and gardening. Her hands were always busy, creating beautiful works of art and nurturing her beloved garden. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often enjoying a cold Coca-Cola while spending time with her cherished pet, Zoe. Marcella is survived by her two sons, Chad Hargis and his wife Keri, along with their children Alexis, Victoria and Bevin; and Brandon Hargis and his wife Kristi and their son Michael. She is also survived by her brothers, Lawrence Broussard Jr. and his wife Kathy, and Wade Broussard; her sister, Samantha Bodin and her husband Joey; her sister-in-law Diane Smith; her first cousin Cindy Borel; and her best friend Debbie Migues. She leaves behind five great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Marcella is preceded in death by her parents and two cousins, Suzy Ahart and Ann Delcambre and best friends Bunice Smith and Rose Landry. Her family and friends will remember Marcella for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a local charity of your choice. Marcella Broussard Babineaux will be deeply missed, but her spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
