Mary was born on January 8, 1953 in Abbeville LA to Joseph “Cotchie” Meaux and Aline Theriot Meaux. She was a lifelong resident of Abbeville LA.
She was an avid pool player, having once owned Bottoms Up, where her love of the game began.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her great grandchildren. She liked to travel and have spur of the moment day trips. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, gardening, fishing, and dancing. She especially loved to jitterbug with her Buddy, Myah.
She was known by many names. To most, she was Mom, Aunt Mary, or NanNan. To her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was Gramms. To a group of ladies that she considered daughters, she was the ring leader of the Sissy Squad, which consisted of Sissy Dear(Kissi), Sissy One(Ronda), Sissy Lou(Shaundi), Sissy Dee(Donna), and Sissy Poo(Dolly).
Her survivors are Crystal Trahan and her fiancé Dustin Menard and her daughter Darlyne Suire, grandchildren Cadon Lege(Daley), Kale Trahan, Ember Trahan, and Sage Menard, her great grandchildren Jackson McFarlain, Mikael Lege, Kayde Lege, and soon to be Kalliovee Lege, Maisie Trahan, Jayde Callahan, and Lilith Callahan, her brother in law and best friend Michael Domingue, her “sonshine “ Terrell Delasbour, her Buddy, Nehemiah Domingue, two lifelong friends that she considered sisters, Maureen Duhon and Gloria Corrales, son in law Willis Lege and his fiancé Kay Leger, siblings David Meaux(Brenda), Cissi Bares(Teddy), Danny Meaux(Carlene), Louise Duhon (Kerry), Joseph “Butch” Meaux, and Robbie Meaux(JoAnn) along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her husband Gerryl Delcambre, sisters Frankie Laurie Domingue and Anna Racca, daughter Ronda Touchet, and son in law Jonathan Trahan.
The family would like to thank the nurses at NSI Hospice, JoBeth Maturin, Brasen Domingue, and Father Glenn Meaux for the compassion shown during this difficult time.
