Michael Gaston Schexnayder

September 17, 1963 — October 22, 2025

Arnaudville - Michael Gaston Schexnayder, age 62, passed away on October 22, 2025, at his home in Arnaudville, Louisiana. A devoted husband, father, and friend, Michael lived a life defined by hard work, faith, and love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter who found peace and joy in the quiet of nature. As an experienced carpenter, he took great pride in his craft—building not only with his hands but with his heart. Michael also shared his passion for teamwork and mentorship as a baseball coach, inspiring many young players through his patience and encouragement. Above all, he was a dedicated family man and a true friend to all who knew him. Michael was a faithful member of St. Charles Church in Grand Coteau, where his strong belief in God guided him throughout his life. He is survived by his daughter, Nikki Schexnayder; his sons, Jarade Schexnayder and wife Holly, and Jaron Schexnayder and fiance Lauren Shinn; his brother, Danny Schexnayder and wife Donna, and their child Denee Abukhur and husband Stefan, and children Sarah, Lani, and Khalil; and his sister, Elizabeth Venable and husband Russel, and their child Victoria Richard and husband Tyler, and son Conner. Michael also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Collin and Randy Schexnayder, and Ridge and Ryland Mier. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Schexnayder, and his parents, Malcolm and Martha Schexnayder. Michael will be remembered for his generosity, strength, and steady kindness—a man who built not only homes and memories, but a lasting legacy of love and faith.
