Lafayette, La. Phillip Hernandez age 39 passed away on October 8, 2023 in Lafayette, La. A Veteran’s Memorial Service with Honor Guard presentation will be held on October 19, 2023 at Colligan Crematory in Broussard. Visitation will be from 11:00 Am to 9:00 Pm. Services will start at 4:00 Pm with Honor Guard presentation following Phillip is survived by his mother Jeanette Varela and his step dads John C. Varela and David G. Peterson; aunts, Yvonne Varela and husband Felipe of Silsbee, Texas, Yvette Brown and husband Joseph of Royse City, Texas, uncles Louis Estrada from San Angelo, Texas, Johnnie and Aunt Veronica Roza from Oklahoma, grandmother Lydia Roza Saladino from Royse City, Texas along with numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Benjamin Hernandez and grandfather Johnnie Roza. Phillip was a veteran of The United States Army where he proudly served his country in the Iraq War. He was a gifted athlete as a young child and was awarded many awards and medals. The family would like to send their Thanks and Appreciation to the Oxford House in Alexandria, La. for their support and work with Phillip.
