In loving memory of Raven Marie Champagne Hunter
Raven Marie Champagne Hunter, 43, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Born on February 2, 1983, in Abbeville, Louisiana, Raven was a beautiful soul with a strong spirit and an unwavering faith in God. Reading her Bible was one of her most treasured times, and her faith carried her through every season of life.
Above all else, Raven was a devoted and loving mother who cherished her two daughters more than anything in this world. Becoming a stay-at-home mom and raising her girls was her greatest achievement and the brightest light in her life. Her love, strength, laughter, and devotion will continue to live on through her daughters forever. Raven found joy in life’s simple moments. She was known as the best Cajun cook, and she loved writing poetry, dancing and singing around the house, reading her Bible, and playing cards with family. More than anything, she loved spending time with those she loved. Raven also had a fierce and adventurous spirit. She enjoyed skydiving and lived life with courage and determination.
She attended college for business and worked at the casino, always striving to build a better life for her family. Raven had a contagious laugh, a radiant smile that could light up any room, and a way of making everyone around her feel loved, welcomed, and nurtured.
Raven is survived by her beloved daughters, Raine Holtz and Braitlyn Lisenby (Blake); her sisters, Lacey Champagne (Eric) and Amber Chandler (Dylan); her stepbrothers, Damas Chandler (Chancy) and Ryan Bowden (Autumn); her nieces, Leila, Nevaeh, Danae Lee and Briara LaFleur; her godchildren, Ella Savoy and Lili Mire; her beloved cat, Lucky; and her former husband, Jason Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Wayne Champagne; her mother, Nancy Ray Viator; her paternal grandparents, Elie “Coon” Champagne Sr. and Audrey Champagne; her maternal grandparents, Fernard Viator and Vivian Viator; along with many other loved ones who were surely waiting to welcome her home.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Raven has been reunited in Heaven with those who went before her. Her memory, love, and beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.
