Church Point - Reginald J. Williams age 64. It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Reginald Jerome Williams, who transitioned from this life on November 7, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. Reginald was born on May 8, 1960, to Eva Delores Williams in Mobile, Alabama. He was 64 years old at the time of his passing. Reginald was a native of Mobile, Alabama, and he carried his Southern charm, humor, and vibrant personality with him wherever he went. A proud graduate of Mattie T. Blount High School, he went on to serve his country for four years in the United States Army, where he displayed the same dedication and loyalty he would later show to his family, friends, and community. Reginald was known for his “Happy-Go-Lucky” spirit and infectious laugh that brightened any room he entered. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued, and it was said of him that he didn’t “meet any strangers”—only friends he hadn’t met yet. Reginald’s love for life, and for the people in it, was boundless, and he was a source of joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone he encountered. Reginald’s legacy will live on through his loving family and the countless lives he touched. He is survived by his devoted wife, Tammy Garcia, and his three children: Jonathan Williams, Vanessa Williams, and Christopher Williams. He was the proud grandfather of three grandchildren, whose lives he cherished deeply. Reginald is also survived by his beloved mother, Eva Delores Williams, and seven siblings: Angela (Thomas) Stone, Vernalette (Ortis, Deceased) Rhodes, Sr., Bernardette (Earnest) Solomon, Jonathan (Mary Ann) Williams, Sr., Sandra (Chester) Williams, Sr., Deborah (Lovell) King, and Gwendolyn (Darrin) Clark, Sr. He will also be remembered fondly by his Aunt Amelia Ruth Howard, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who were privileged to know him. Reginald’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center for their care and compassion during his final days. May he rest in peace, and may his spirit continue to inspire and uplift us as we carry his memory forward.
