"Roby"

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church for Reynold “Roby” Patrick Robichaux, 81, who passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Father Andrew Schumacher will be the celebrant of the Mass.

Visitation will be at Holy Cross Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

A Rosary will be led by Deacon Robert Klingman at 10:30 a.m.

Originally from Bourg, Louisiana, Roby lived a full and meaningful life centered around his faith, family, career, and the many things he loved. A devoted Catholic, he was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, where he faithfully shared his love of music as a member of the church choir for 27 years.

Roby was a petroleum engineer by profession and approached life with the same dedication and enthusiasm that he brought to his career. He enjoyed playing tennis, hunting and fishing, playing the guitar, and making wine. Health and fitness were also an important part of his life, and he had been a member of Red Lerille’s Health & Racquet Club since 1970.

Few things, however, could rival Roby’s love for LSU. A devoted Tiger fan, his connection to LSU went back to his college years, when he even lived in Tiger Stadium. His love for the Tigers remained with him throughout his life.

Above all, Roby was devoted to his family. He and his beloved wife, Judy, shared 58 years of marriage, building a life together filled with love, faith, family, and countless memories.

Roby is survived by his wife, Judy Porche Robichaux; his son, Jeff Robichaux and wife Patti; his daughter, Kelli Peschier and husband Joseph; his brother, Steve Robichaux and wife Suzanne; and his grandchildren, Brandon Peschier, Hannah Robichaux, Patrick Robichaux and fiancée Olivia Harrington, and Emma Robichaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lucille Robichaux; and his siblings, Helen Bergeron, Ella Mae Tabor, Sonny Robichaux, and Izolene Bourg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Diner in Lafayette or to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at T2T.org. Special thanks to Dr. Juan Perez and Dr. Timothy Keys.

Roby will be remembered for his strong faith, his devotion to Judy and their family, his many interests and talents, and, of course, his unwavering love for the LSU Tigers. In honor of Roby’s generous spirit and his lifelong love of LSU, respectful casual LSU attire may be worn.

His life was one well lived, and the memories he created will continue to be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
