Mamou - Sergio Alfredo Romero, father, son and friend. Born on May 16 of 1972, in San Jose California, passed away on May 18 of 2024, in Lafayette Louisiana. He was the beloved son of Maria Isabel and Fred Moreno, now reunited with them in eternal peace. Sergio was a loving father and is survived by his children Dontaye and Noelia. Nieces & nephews Vanessa, John Paul, & Victoria. He will be deeply missed by his close friend-like family; Herbert, Brenda, Duryea & Randy, Gus & Victor, Karie & Brandi, Vince, Jonathan, Isela, David, Shelly, & Veronica who all cherish the memories they shared with him. Sergio was known for his passion for quality time with loved ones, and his witty ways that brought infectious joy to those around him. He had a laid-back personality that made everyone feel at ease in his presence. Sergio's interests included golfing, making music, playing dominoes, and barbecuing delicious meals. He found joy in simple pleasures and shared that with others. His memory will forever be treasured. Some close to him have said; "He was a very caring man. He was one the first people that gave me a hug when my daughter was born. His face lit up like a Xmas tree when I told him the news. At that point, I realized he cared about family." “His saying growing up was no pain, no gain.” “..Anytime l've ever needed something he always helped me out with anything like a place to stay and eat, or a shoulder to cry on, or a homie to kick it with. Out of all the friends l have, l've known Sergio the longest. We are soulmate brother's, I will be forever missing my brother Sergio, we've known each other for 38 years since 1986 to 2024.” The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lafayette Lady of Lourdes Hospital for their compassionate care of Sergio in his final days. They also express their thanks to Kent Colligan from Colligan Crematory & Funeral Services for his assistance during this difficult time. A private celebration will be held to honor Sergio's life.
