Carencro- Steven Roy Taylor, age 70, beloved husband of Darlene Faulstich Taylor, left this world for a better place at 10:37 AM Saturday, August 10, 2024. He was born June 26, 1954 in New Orleans. He was a long time member of Assembly of God Tabernacle in Chalmette, LA and later First Assembly in Youngsville, LA. He was a devoted and loving father to Chad Steven Taylor (Allyson), Amy Taylor Renz (Fred), and Jill Priscilla Taylor (Tiffany). He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Henry Taylor and Rosaria Giardina Taylor, and brother, Bryan William Taylor (Elia). He is survived by his sisters, Lorraine Taylor Torres (Richard), Laurette Taylor Smith, and Roberta Xavia Taylor. Steve leaves behind seven grandchildren Sebastian Oliver Renz, Addyson Mariana Taylor, Kohen Alekzander Taylor, Lukas Reid Taylor, Grant Stephen Taylor, Julianna Rose Taylor-Pasco, and Finley James Taylor-Pasco as well as many nieces and nephews. He was filled with nostalgia for his high school days at Benjamin Franklin High School and found great joy planning Class of 1972 reunions and reconnecting with his classmates. A true New Orleanian, he was an avid Saints fan, even when they were known as the Aints, and of course rooted for the boys in Purple and Gold. He had a big heart and volunteered his time in retirement to help those in need. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a romantic husband, a whimsical father, and silly and snuggly Paw-Paw. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at First Assembly, 3555 Verot School Road, Youngsville, LA on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM with a service to follow. Interment will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Lake Lawn Mausoleum (Main Mausoleum, North Unit 1, Room FF) in New Orleans, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Acadiana Needs (www.acadiananeeds.org) or your favorite charity would be appreciated.
