Sue Baudry

April 13, 1949 — December 9, 2024

Lafayette - Sue Baudry. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sue Baudry, a loving mother, devoted wife, and cherished friend. Sue passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, at the age of 75. Sue was born on April 13, 1949, in Houston, Texas, to Glenn Bradford and Thelma Sue Penprase Grant Bradford. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Thelma Bradford; her brother, Phil Bradford; and her beloved godchild, Kayla Nicole Lanclos. Sue was married for 29 years to the love of her life, Edwin Baudry. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth. Sue was a proud mother to two sons, Andrew Benton of Austin, Texas, and Marcus Baudry of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, whom she adored beyond measure. Her love for her children knew no bounds, and she was always there for them, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love. In addition to being a devoted mother, Sue had a special place in her heart for children, always treating them as if they were her own. Her kindness and nurturing spirit extended to everyone she met, young and old. She had a unique ability to make people feel seen, loved, and cared for, no matter their age or circumstance. Sue was also a lover of animals, and her pets were her cherished companions, often treated with the same love and attention as her own children. She had an incredible bond with her animals, finding comfort and joy in their company. Though Sue had been a resident of Louisiana for over 30 years, her heart remained a fierce Texan one—proud, strong, and full of spirit. No matter where life took her, she always carried the warmth and resilience of Texas with her. Sue is survived by her two sons, Andrew Benton and Marcus Baudry, her beloved husband, Edwin Baudry, her brother, Craig Bradford, and extended family members, as well as the children who called her Aunt Suzie and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. A Memorial Service to honor Sue's life will be held on January 3, 2025, from 4pm-6pm at 408 Foreman Drive, Lafayette, LA 70506 . The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Lafayette Animal Aid in Sue’s memory. Sue’s love and kindness will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and generosity that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.Lafa
