Opelousas - Tammy Ann LaFleur, born to Nelton and Helen LaFleur, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the age of 66. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to remember a woman who wanted the people she loved to be happy, and who lived life on her own terms. Tammy lived simply and privately, happiest at home with her longtime partner, Gary Saizan. She had a habit of keeping to herself, but when she showed up, she made her presence known, with a sharp wit, a good story, and a laugh that could carry across a room. She loved in her own way, never pretended to be something she wasn’t, and didn’t feel the need to explain herself to anyone. She found joy in the little things, cooking a savory grease gravy, feeding her animals, tending to her home, or just sitting out on the back patio with Gary, watching the day roll by in their quiet corner of the world. Above all, Tammy adored her daughter, Natasha, and each of her grandchildren. Their bond was filled with laughter, long conversations, and a love that ran deep. She found joy in their lives and pride in their accomplishments. No matter the distance or circumstance, she was always there when it mattered most—that was the kind of love she gave. Tammy is survived by her devoted life partner, Gary Saizan; her beloved daughter, Natasha Krummel (Ronald Jr.); her cherished grandchildren, Antonio Torres, Trent Krummel (Erin), Ronald Krummel III, and Nicholas Krummel; her loving brothers, Joul P. LaFleur (Eileen) and Kell Jacque LaFleur (Judith); her compassionate sister, Nina Lopez; and her nieces and nephews: Allison Silvas (Michael), Simone Breaux (Aaron), Hillary Lopez (Alex), Haleigh Edwards (Dennis), Madeleine LaFleur, Gabriel LaFleur (Rachel), Joel LaFleur, Dreama, and Jamica (David). She also leaves behind her supportive sister-in-law, Stephanie Guillory (Tiger), and countless loved ones she considered family, by blood or bond. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelton and Helen LaFleur. Tammy’s legacy is one of deep love, quiet resilience, and a life guided by her own heart and convictions. She may have kept to herself, but those who knew her felt her presence in lasting ways, in her stories, her laughter, and her unwavering sense of self. She was unapologetically real, impossible to forget, and she will be missed with the same honesty and love she gave to others.
