Virginia Scherer

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 21st, 2023, at 10:00am at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette, Louisiana for Virginia Scherer, 81, who passed away, Wednesday October 18th, 2023, at Maison De Lafayette Rehabilitation Center. Virginia is survived in death by her three son's, Selwyn Scherer and wife Terry of Houston, Texas, Mark Scherer of New Iberia, and Terrell Scherer of Lafayette, with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Virginia is proceeded in death by husband of 57 years, August G. Scherer; her parents Cletus Bonnvillain and Aline Guidry; her son Dwayne Scherer and siblings; Benedict, Ralph and Wilda Bonnvillain, Sue Grossie and Edith Hebert. A lifelong member of the St. Genevieve Catholic church. She was a loving mother to her sons, and had a passion for jewelry that was unmatched. She will be dearly missed.
