Wyann Mardel Hulst-Perry

May 20, 1959 — April 10, 2024

Mountain, North Dakota - Wyann Hulst-Perry age 64. It's with a twinkle in our eyes and a skip in our step that we share the bittersweet news of the grand finale of Wyann Hulst - Perry's colorful symphony of life. On April 10, 2024, at the age of 64, Wyann took her final bow in Lafayette, Louisiana after traveling across country for a Gene Watson concert! Born on a sunny May 20, 1959, in Roseau, Minnesota, she danced through life with the kind of zest that would put the Energizer Bunny to shame. Wyann, our very own Mary Poppins, spent her days spreading joy as a nanny and a maestro in the kitchen. She could whip up a storm, with her mile-high lemon meringue pies that literally reached for the sky – no pie in the sky stories here, folks! Mother Nature's BFF, Wyann, had a green thumb that could turn a desert into an oasis and a heart big enough to love every critter she met. She was the ultimate outdoorsy gal, who could pitch a tent faster than you could say "marshmallow," and her fishing tales were the real catch of the day. Her love for music was only matched by the pride she felt watching her daughter, Tory, race barrels. And let's not forget her role as the world's most enthusiastic horse grandma – she horsed around with the best of them until her actual grandkids, Axtel and Emersyn, trotted into her life. Let’s not forget the 4 boys she added to the chaos through guardianship, Presley, Andrew, Eldon and Michael. Wyann leaves behind a legacy of laughter in the hearts of her daughter, Tory (Cory) Sondeland; her brothers Roger (Betty), Joey (Joyce), Robbie (Cindy), Dudley (Judy), Dayton (Becky), Troy (Darci); sisters Juneal Witchard, Lucy (Jon) Heggedal; her adorable grandkids; and a whole parade of nieces, nephews, and friends. She joins the great garden party in the sky with her father Stanley Hulst, mother Velma Hulst-Gates, step-dad Joe Gates, brother Russell Hulst, and her husband Bob Perry, who are probably all enjoying her heavenly pies right now. Wyann's spirit was wilder than a garden in full bloom, and while we'll miss her more than her famous pies, we know she's somewhere over the rainbow, riding the wind and whispering, "Life's a garden, dig it!" So let's not say goodbye; instead, let's say, "Catch you later, alligator!" After all, in the great cycle of life, it's just a matter of time until we're all reunited for the ultimate family reunion. Keep those lemon meringue pies coming, Wyann – we'll bring the whipped cream!
