Zane Michael Blanchard 43, passed away on Friday March 13,2026.
Born on May 26, 1982 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana . Zane was the beloved son of Christopher Blanchard Sr. And Linda Landry, and husband of Candy Blanchard. He grew up in Donaldsonville, Louisiana and attended Donaldsonville High, then went on to The Youth Challenge Program in Carville, Louisiana, where he received his diploma.
After graduation Zane joined the Louisiana Army National Guard and served in Company C, 769th Engineering Battalion from 4/14/2000 - 4/13/2009. He was deployed after 911 to Kandahar, Afghanistan, from 2002 to 2003 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Louisiana War Cross for his dedicated service in combat. His unit was attached to the 82nd Airborne during this combat tour. He was also deployed to New Orleans, La., in support of Hurricane Katrina relief efforts in 2005, and received the Humanitarian Service Medal. In his military service, he reached the rank of Sergeant. His dedication to his country reflected his strong character, courage, and commitment to others.
After his military service Zane worked in the parts department at CSI Fabrication, Southland Engine and Ideal Appliance and was known for the kindness, humor, and generosity. He was a humble man. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and his family.
He is survived by his wife Candy Blanchard, and three children Tyler, Courtney, and Brady Blanchard. His parents Chris Blanchard Sr. And Linda Landry, two sisters Raven and Jessica Blanchard , niece and nephew Jamarious and Na’Jayla Blanchard, and his grandmother Dora Landry.
He was preceded in death by his brother Christopher Blanchard Jr, grandparents Albert J Landry, Lawless and Angelina Blanchard.
Zane will be remembered for the love he had for his family, service to his country, and strength of spirit. He served his nation with pride and lived his life with strength , integrity, and love. His legacy of service and love will live on in all who knew him.
A life of service , a heart of gold, and a legacy that will never fade. Gone from our sight, but never from our Hearts!
